SQL Server GETUTCDATE() Function
GETUTCDATE() returns the current UTC date and time as a datetime value. The result is UTC but contains no time-zone offset. GETUTCDATE() has lower fractional-second precision than SYSUTCDATETIME(), which returns datetime2(7). See Microsoft’s GETUTCDATE documentation.
Syntax
GETUTCDATE()
Example
Use GETUTCDATE() when a datetime UTC value is appropriate:
SELECT GETUTCDATE() AS current_utc_datetime;
For a higher-precision UTC value, use SYSUTCDATETIME(). To store a system time together with its current numeric offset, use SYSDATETIMEOFFSET().
